Nigerians have been admonished to always render help to victims of road crashes instead of taking pictures at the scene of accident.
The call was made on Thursday in Okigwe , Imo State by an Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Samuel Igwe, while interacting with newsmen on the attitude of passengers during road accidents.
He explained that road safety and services is the responsibility of everyone, stating that every citizen must be involved in rescue mission, adding that embarking on this, is a way of helping someone in danger.
He decried the attitude of some road users who, on arrival at the scene of accident, prefer taking pictures of victims than rendering help to save them, urging people to call the emergency number 122 for proper assistance.
Igwe stated that the role of FRSC include providing prompt rescue activities as well as reducing complications, insisting that this can be achieved if the Corps is giving prompt information on where road crashes are currently taking place.
