Newly ordained Deacons and Priests of Diocese of Owerri, Anglican Communion, have been tasked to tend God’s sheep by making them conform and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal savior.

Venerable Prof. Obiora Nwosu, gave the charge on Sunday at the Diaconate and Priestly ordination of 18 Deacons and 13 Priests held at Ebenezer Anglican Church, Ekwereazu Ibeama Ogwa Archdeaconry, Owerri, Imo State.
Speaking on the theme, “Divine Invitation: Answering Jesus Call to Tend the Sheep, drawn from John chapter 21, verse 15 to 17, The Cleric, reminded the newly ordained that part of their duty is to ensure they win souls for Christ.
He admonished them to always guide the sheep (congregation) by impacting in them, morals that will bring glory to the name of God, warning against ungodly practices that will question their call to God’s vineyard.
Ven. Nwosu reminded them that the job they were called to do as servants of God, is time consuming and demands they purge themselves of all iniquity just as he charged them to resist temptations and antics of the devil which must surely come their way.
Recall that during the week long retreat for the ordained Deacons and Priests, the Bishop Chukwuma Oparah, had charged them to ensure they tend God’s sheep to God’s glory.
Speaking with newsmen, a newly ordained Priest, Rev. Ifeanyi Uzuegbu, expressed joy to God Almighty who made it possible. He equally thanked The Bishop of Owerri Diocese, Rt. Rev. Chukwuma Oparah (PhD) for finding him and his beloved wife, Mrs. Mary Amarachukwu Uzuegbu worthy to be among those ordained.
The brand new Reverend also expressed optimism that God will enrich him in His glory to carry out this role as a shepherd of the flock while calling on the people to keep praying and supporting his ministry.
