It was indeed a feast of felicitations as family, business associates, friends and well wishers feted with the MD/CEO of Global Process & Pipeline Services (GPPS), Engr. Obidike Nelkon Uzu on his 60th birthday celebration.
Felicitations flowed like flood as encomiums were poured on the thoroughbred Engineer, community leader and celebrated author, Obi Uzu in Lagos State, Nigeria.
The event, which held on Saturday, August 3rd, 2024 at the Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos State, was well attended by dignitaries from the Oil & Gas industry, Civil Service, Judiciary, members of Ngwa Patriots Forum, University of Port Harcourt Alumni and The Harvard University Alumni Association and so many other groups.
The celebrant, Engr. Obidike Nelkon Uzu, who holds a High Chieftaincy tile in Ngwa land was born on July 29, 1964 in Ndiolumbe, Nvosi Autonomous Community of Isialangwa South, Abia State.
A celebrated author, Obi has in his stable of published works, “From Aba to Forbes, A Journey of Grit and Glory”, a chronicle of his life story and Biafran war with the foreword penned by the quintessential Professor Chijioke Uwasomba of the department of English, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Nigeria.
The celebrant’s career path encompasses various roles at Shell, BJ Services and Global Process & Pipeline Services (GPPS). He is the Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Institute of Petroleum Engineers and Vice Chairman, Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria, and holds degrees from Harvard University and University of Cambridge.
Congratulatory messages poured in ahead his birthday on various social media platforms and in person from his primary constituency, the oil and Gas industry, Metropolitan Club, IKOYI Club as well as associates from other professional bodies and social circles he belongs. The most touching was the encomiums from beneficiaries of his bursary scheme which has spanned 13 years.
Highlights of the occasion were cutting of the birthday cake, rendition of goodwill messages, music and dance.
