Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has made case for investment in research and development, stressing that it is needed to surmount the security challenges in the country.
The Army Chief, said insecurity ravaging many parts of the country is evolving, noting that research into them would help keep security agencies ahead of criminal groups.
He spoke at the Nigerian Army seminar on Research Development and Innovation in Abuja on Thursday.
Lagbaja said through research, development, and innovation, the Army produced hardware used against Boko Haram following the difficulty encountered in procuring them.
