In her averred commitment to sustain capacity building for media practitioners, students of tertiary institutions, and other Media Ministries, the Management of Vision Africa Headquarters, Dallas USA, the in-country operation, Vision Africa Radio –104.1FM, Umuahia, have concluded arrangements to kick-start the 11th edition of the 2024 Vision Africa Media Institute Training.
The two-day Media Training which will be holding at the Vision Africa premises, Ogurube Layout, Umuahia, Abia State , is slated for Tuesday 2nd and Wednesday 3rd July, 2024 and will kick-start 10:00 am daily.
Vision Africa Radio Media Training which is an annual ritual, is designed to train and
update media practitioners, students of tertiary institutions, and other Media ministries, teaching them how to improve their competencies, prepare them for progression opportunities as well as follow up their progress in the media industry.
The theme for this year, “The Message and the Messenger –Authentic Communication Skills for Media Professionals” will avail participants opportunities to tap into the knowledge and experiences of the Institute’s faculty and professionals from the United States, Canada, Kenya, and Nigeria, who are also eager to meet media practitioners, students of tertiary institutions and share all they have garnered over the years in the practice of journalism.
Speaking on the theme for this year, The Message and the Messenger –Authentic Communication Skills for Media Professionals”, The President and Founder, Vision Africa International, Bishop Dr. Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha said the theme for this year is apt and well intended to further broaden the understanding of journalism practice by students of tertiary institutions and entrants in the profession.
According to him, the theme will also bring about thought provoking moments among media practitioners regarding what they are doing today to reshape the media landscape and take journalism practice to the next level.
The Methodist Bishop, stated that previous editions have been mouthwatering, scintillating and have always offered media practitioners, students of territory institutions something to go home with, assuring that this year’s edition will not be a departure from the aims and objectives of holding the Media Training annually.
Meanwhile, those expected to attend the 2024 Vision Africa Media Training are: clergies and preachers of the gospel of Jesus Christ, who regularly communicate the message of hope to their congregation as well as preach peace with a view to achieving a virile society.
