A 27-year old man has allegedly taken his own life in Amachi Nsulu in Isiala Ngwa North LGA of Abia State after taking sniper.
A source close to the family, told newsbuka.com.ng, that the young man whose name was given as Jephthah Okezie, returned from Bayelsa State on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024.
He said on return from Bayelsa, Okezie withdrew the sum of N75,000 and visited one of his sisters married in Amaiyi, Isiala Ngwa South LGA of Abia State gave her N30,000 and told her that he would soon die of depression. He also told his immediate younger brother and other sister same thing.
The source told newsbuka.com.ng that his two sisters and brothers thought he was joking with the situation but realized it was not, when information filtered last night that Okezie had died.
It was learnt that he also revealed to neighbours in same compound that he took sniper and asked them to give him red oil to diffuse the effect but it was too late.
The source told newsbuka.com.ng, that when family members, relatives among others, went to his room, they saw him lying lifeless just as they perceived fragrance similar to that of sniper, adding that when they eventually saw the bottle of sniper, it was discovered that he had taken half of it.
He revealed that he was quickly rushed to Catholic Hospital Umunpkeyi where it was confirmed that he had given up the ghost as efforts by the doctors to administer treatment proved abortive.
